Things have felt really busy as of late. I have been trying to figure out my status as far as health insurance goes as well as my citizenship. I am in limbo with what to do with my tooth right now tentatively planning to head out to Sacramento sometime after first training camp with Canada. I have no idea what the dates are for the second and third camps so for right now no plans are being made. Ben his grandfather and I are going to meet with an immigration lawyer May 4th so I can see what my options are. (This law firm specializes in immigration when I called to book the appointment they asked my name and I said Kim Smith. She asked me to spell it I spelled it out for her and she preceded to ask for my last name. I was like you must specialize in immigration because I believe Kim Smith is one of the most common names in the United States! ) Ben's grandpa was the top lawyer in CT back in the day and still knows everyone he has offered to call senators on my behalf, very sweet!
The weather here has been gorgeous all weekend in the mid 80s to low 90s. Ben and I went to the drive in last night I would go every weekend if I could!
Thus far no news on any training camps so I am just staying ready!

Fired...
So I was browsing the web yesterday afternoon after getting into Seattle and found out that I had been waived. I am not going to lie I was pretty upset I had just left home which always sucks and then I read online not through my agent or a coach that I was cut. It took me by surprise to say the least I really thought of this team as my chance to finally get an opportunity to play and excel in a system that suited me as a player. Especially because just two days before being waived we had exchanged emails about when I was going to come into camp. I guess it was not meant to be.
I got a nice phone call from the Phoenix GM who said she is very sorry and it was a really hard decision which was nice of her to do and I will give her a call back in the next day or so. It certainly does not make it any easier, I am trying not to get too wrapped up in it all but it is tough because I didn't get a chance just waived before the camp even started. I I have no idea where this leaves me other than I am now uninsured and as of May 15th without a work visa... I will try and get into another camp I am not sure what my chances are this late in the game but time will tell.
After finding out Ben and I headed downtown Seattle on the bus where I spent some money shopping and drank some margaritas! Seattle is a really cool city and it was such a gorgeous day out we had a great time walking around.
In Vegas right now waiting for my next flight back to Connecticut.

Whistler
The last few days we have been in Whistler. Ben, mom and dad hit the slopes and here are a few pics from their adventures. I worked out in the gym and went down to the village to window shop and drink second cup! I thought they were only in Calgary so I was pleasantly surprised to find one in the village... Michelle I was thinking of you the whole time.
Grandma there is picture that they took from the peak to peak chair I included it just for you!

GO BU!
I love BC! The trip home was incredibly long and I remember now why I never fly into Seattle anymore... it sucks flying the whole day and then having a 2.5 hour drive. I reminded myself many times that the flight was free courtesy of air miles so it was worth it. Mom and Megs were so gracious to make the trek down and we were all a tired bunch by the time we got home.
Some things we have done....
Ben, Megs and my parents went to a hole in the wall pub in Sumas to get ESPN so they could watch the NCAA frozen four. I had a workout with Allison, Mike and got to play a bunch which was a fun.
Got to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa as they came over for dinner on Friday! I really love hanging out with my family!!
Michelle took Megs, Ben and I to the batting cages, she has a big slo pitch season to get ready for (she is in fine form, smashing the ball just like the old days) Castle Fun Park on a Friday night is a big high school hangout... good times!
Ben took me to the Sumas pub to watch BU WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!! It was a really exciting game BU scored two goals with a minute left in the 3rd to send the game into OT and then won it all in OT.
Church tomorrow, pick up Grandma and then Turkey dinner!

Packing...
Packing everything up into my two bags to head out to BC tomorrow. I really hate moving so much but I guess thats life!
I am doing well other than packing, my bump is feeling better. I can officially do a pull up which was big news to me... I have never been able to do one on my own and now while it is only one I can do it!!
Time to get back to work lots more packing to do...
