Stolen Shoes!!!

So today I showed up for practice and to my surprise somebody had stolen my basketball shoes!! I was the only one who had their shoes stolen we always leave our gear in the locker room and somebody had taken my shoes right from my locker. I had to take a pair from the Silver Stars and they didn't have my kind so they hurt my feet a little and I am not liking them but good news is that I can get a new pair of mine back in Sac. The security men are on it we have photographed a shoe like mine documented that I tie my laces different and people are on it!! I was laughing because it doesn't seem like that big of a deal but it really is I guess they have had problems with people stealing the Spurs jerseys taking htem out in garbage bags so they are all business about my shoes. I said somebody knew if I got activated this series would be over so they wanted to make sure i would still be on the bench!!
Game 3 tomorrow NBA TV 6pacific time!!!!!

A win and A loss!!!

Alright so we opened playoffs on a tear, same thing as last year just a completely different team. We played harder, smarter and really just a new level of basketball compared to the beginning of the year. We smoked San Antonio in by about 20 and I was thinking it was about to be another long run in the playoffs. Then we played today... they were the different team and kicked our booties! It all comes down to game 3 Monday do or die time so I will either be back in beautiful BC this next weekend or still in Sac playing some more ball!!

I was doing my workout today when one of our assistants was working out and asking me about overseas and all that, then he told me that I was a great player and I have a really bright future in this league and don't let this year get to me because it doesn't mean anything! I can not even explain that really made my day!
If we won I would have been back in Sac today celebrating Bens bday with him but instead we are still in SA and Ben is on the road heading to LA to catch up with some college buddies. Since the game was early Sho, Fro and I headed to the river walk and took a boat tour through Fro's convincing. We picked the right boat... there was a man in one of those scooter things so that was an all out production trying to get him on the boat... really I was terrified he was going to fall into the river on this machine and drown. After many directions and cheering on (yes Fro was clapping) he got in and our tour began. It gets better as soon as we pulled into the flood canal the motor went dead, we really thought this was part of the joke but no we bumped into the wall and called the maintenance boat. We were told we may have to switch boats if maintenance can't fix it. We are in the deepest part of the river with a man on a scooter there is no way we can jump boats. Thank goodness the motor was up and running and we avoided that disaster. The 10 minute delay went by quickly as the drunken ladies calling out for more margaritas proved to be quite entertaining!
Jess is off in Australia land but her new blog is now a link so I can know everything that is going on in her life!!!

Day off and the fair

Alright so I apologize it has been a while. Since I last posted the regular season has ended we had a few appearances at one right before our last game the fans kept asking if I was going to play because "the game didn't mean anything" I was like really did you think before you said that. I politely replied I don't get to decide that. Monday after the season ended we had a day off so I was pumped had a great workout in the morning and was ready to go to the waterslides, lotion on drove 30 minutes there to find out it is closed. I was actually devestated so Ben and I played catch which wound up only lasting about 20 minutes (maybe less) my arm was sore, I am not in baseball shape completely different muscles. Then an another fan appearance and more questions on whether or not I will play (you never get sick of answering that I tell you) and went to see the Bourne Ultimatum. It was a great movie I would recomend it. That brings us to yesterday where I had an appearance at the fair so B and I did the news and handed out free stuff! Ben and I hung out at the fair for 5 hours and I know I will sound like a baby because of the baseball comment but I was also tired from walking that whole time. But to my defense it was a hard practice that we had that morning. THe fair was good saw a cow give birth, a horse get a little crazy and almost kill a girl trying to jump out the stadium and all sorts of fair food... a krispy creme jelly filled donught fried chicken sandwich. I don't know who would eat that but I am sure there are folks out there. Today an easy practice playoffs begin tomorrow, I thought my season was over but you can still activate players during the playoffs so I was told... you never know don't go into off season mode by one of our managers. THe first round is best of 3 we have San Antonio at home and then travel there for the weekend.

Megs and the parents are off to Calgary today started the drive nice and early the last child has officially left home. I am so excited for Megs I am sure she will have fun, Ben showed her Animal House so she at least knows who to look for when searching a party!!

3 more games

Well, it has been so great to be back in town after the road trip. I have not really done very much besides relax after practices. I dressed the other night but did not play so we will see if I dress again I am thinking no. Megs is in town and trying to show her around a little but we have not had any days off apparently we "don't handle them well" so they may not be coming anymore!! We thought one was coming but we watched a movie because "we have to stay together as a team" even though we had an appearance later that day.
The appearance was really cool it was opening a reading and learning center for homeless kids, it had computers, video games,a classroom that taught grades 7-12 and showers for kids. It was a lot of fun the kids were all so excited and we gave away a bunch of shirts and little prizes although I did get the most boring station... arts and crafts. I was like are you serious I am not artsy or crafty so made do attempting to help kids make pennants. It was really neat to see how excited they all were and makes you count your blessings. It was crazy the lady said people often say that the kids don't "look" homeless but she said it isn't like they are out on the streets begging they are going to school and hanging out there during the day and going to sleep in a car at night. They were great kids though!
We did get drug tested today it was such a great surprise that it happened at practice instead of on the raod so we had a lot of time we could go in and out after practice or before. Megs and I got pedicures today first time in a while, feels so nice!
Ben gets into town tomorrow so that should be great. I keep on forgetting my pictures so that will have to wait another day.
I can't believe we have only 3 more games and this season is over... after playoffs of course.

Home sweet home

Well after playing in 4 cities in 8 days it feels good to be back in Sac. The long road trip is over and so is the season!! We had a horrible record on the road 1-3 but we beat the hottest team in teh league right now so I really don't know where we stand and how well we will do in playoffs. We did secure a playoff berth with that 1 win on the road. I got to see Ben and his family on the road trip so much fun. I went over to his house for dinner and it was so good especially after being on the road there is nothing like a home cooked meal. I got to hang out with his family and of course Ben. Connecticut was actaully the game that we won and the Gaucher family had plenty of people in the stands sporting Smith purple Monarchs shirts.
THen it was off to San Antonio and Houston to reunite with Michelle who I haven't seen in forever, she looks great everything she wore was brand new though... been doing a little shopping in Calgary. I will post a few pictures of us on the riverwalk in San Antonio, I also got to see Ashere and her husband they are so nice and it really helps break up the road trips when I can hang out with different people.
Our strength coach had his baby while we were on the road a 9lbs baby boy Kayden.
I am really over tired after the trip but so this will be short and I will get to thepictures another day I have to go finish folding my mounds of laundry!

Changing things up!

Well as you can see I switched up the blog a little, I was just feeling like a change. I posted some links on the side, I only know two other people that keep a blog but soon that will change... right Jess (no baby yet she was due last Friday)??? I have some links to the team sites, the one in the crazy language thats my Belgium team. I am in Indy right now got in we took a red eye, which was a horrible idea. Basically we left right after teh Seattle game and flew 3 hours and 30 minutes to Chicago where we had a two hour layover before we had a 28 minute flight to Indy. We left at 11pm and arrived at 1030am with only four real sleep hours in there. Practice got pushed back and everyone passed out until we had to leave. HOpefully I can still sleep tonight. Everyone on the team got woken up by a lady coming to check the mini bar except my roomie and I because I always lock the door with the little master lock so nobody can get in... came in handy today.
I am so excited that we get to go to Connecticut in two days and I will see Ben again! After seeing Ben we are off to San Antonio and Houston where I can hang out with Michelle. It is so awesome because this is a long road trip but I have been looking forward to it all year because I get ot visit people.

I really can't swim!

I had a fantastic trip to Seattle, I really feel as though I was revitalized seeing some mountains and the ocean, I just the northwest. Dad and Megs came down so that was great we had a wonderful lunch right by the ocean, even though none of us ordered seafood it was still good. It was such a gorgeous day that we walked around a little we started walking out onto a pier to get a view of the water until we got about halfway out there and realized that it was a bunch of homeless people... some strange characters so we decided to change our course. It was off to the game and we won so we didn't have practice today. Our homework was to watch the game film and dissect it I am still debating if I need to watch the game again, I feel like I already did one time.
My pool workout today was interesting we had to do a bunch of sprints with little weights in our hands above our heads. For some reason I almost drown every time doing this so I swallowed half of the pool water but I think I am getting the technique down. My strength coach did tell me that I sucked at swimming after witnessing todays performance.
Ben applied for a job at Boston University the other day which really would be the perfect job for him it is with the womens basketball team and he would be recruiter Megs knows how hard he vouches for this school! If anyone knows the coaches there it is the job for him!
