Visitors are all gone and I am back alone mom and dad had a great visit. Mom spent a lot of money... but it was a lot of clothes so it was okay and they both had a great time in San Fran. There was big plans for a hike in lake tahoe but we didn't quite figure the time out correectly so it wound up being another day touring Sacramento. Canada finished 4th at teh pan ams so that is cool, I wish I could have been there with them!
My parents and I saw I now pronounce you chuck and larry. It was pretty funny I owuld reccomend it however there was one small dig at the WNBA... see if you can pick it out. I was laughing but that is bad.
I need to go pick out an outfit for tonight so I will head out but I will be in Seattle on Tuesday so it would be good to see some people!

Struck by lightning
Well first off Clo I threw my old mouthguard out in Brazil last summer!
We were in San Antonio this weekend and we lost so that makes it 3 in a row... what can you do? We had to wake up this morning at 445 and went to bed at 145 so not too much sleep, however some of my teamates didn't even go to bed so I have to say I was one of the sharper looking ones in the airport this morning. Flying to San Antonio was a new experience we flew Express Jet a new discount airline that markets itself as no middle seats as they sit one thenn an aisle then two. Translation small plane. I was pumped somwehow I got two seats to myslef on the way back so I was spread out sleeping when we hit some nasty turbulence so I kind of sat up when a huge flash of light surrounded our plane. Two seconds before this the flight attendant had RAN to her seat. We were in the middle of a storm and we concluded that the tip of our plane was struck so I said a little prayer and talks started up about an emergency landing and mayday calls. None of this happened landed safely in Sacramento but now I can say I have been technically hit by lightning.
Side note the parents came in today and abducted my car barely turning their rental car in time at the airport. Great to visit with them and dad came just in time as I hvae an ANT INFESTATION. I don't know when or how but when I came back today I noticed some ants on the wall 5 to be exact so I killed them all and started looking around only to feel surrounded by these tiny creatures. I was on the carpet with my lysol trying to stomp and kill vacummed for a good 30 minutes and still ants! ONce I got my car back we headed straight for the home depot and selected a ant raider I have to say there was quite a few options and lots of people surrounding the ant seciton... ants may be taking over the whole Natomas area. We got back to the apartement and dad went to work, I followed up with the whiffle ball bat getting any of those pesky guys that thought they could live after breaking into my apartement. I studied the apartement and it is looking like we may be in the clear but I am calling an exterminator first thing Monday morning!!

homework
Well lets see the last two practices have been quite long but the good thing is that I have just been playing with the guys we bring in to practice against. This means I get to play all the time and get my but in some game shape! The last couple of practices have been very good for that and as my foot continues to improve I am starting to drive and shoot pull ups again instead of just catch and shoot.
I am starting to seriously consider buying a house as an investment then just renting it out to somebody... the biggest problem is where I would buy that house.
Mom and dad are coming into town this weekend with big plans of bike rides in San Fran and seeing Napa.
We have been having "homework" the last couple of days with the team researching Monarch butterflies and how they compare to the team... I am just going to end it at that!! This is a form of procrastination for me.

Do you like Steak??
Well the break has been very uneventful not up to much at all. I had my first dentist appointment in two years, yeah a little gross I understand but I just never got around to it I guess. Good news is that no new cavities and a new mouthguard on the way! There was one crazy incident yesterday I was deep into cleaning my apartement... it seems as though I have a lot of ants around so I tried to kill them all off, when I heard a knock at the door. I live on the 3rd floor and have never had an unexpected guest drop by. I looked through the peephole and realized I didn't know this man, however the music was blaring he knew someone was in teh house so I felt like I had to answer the door. I opened it up a tiny bit and and said yes this man said "miss I just wanted to ask you a question... do you like steaks?" I said no and shut the door and bolted both locks. I was a little jumpy all night but the next morning I was laughing it off. I told mom the story the other day and her first opinion was he probably stole meat from the store and was going to sell it for a little cheaper (apparently this happened to Buy Low a few times) I understood this and I almost had to applaud the man for climbing 3 flights of stairs to ask if I like steak. Moms next suggestion threw me off a little but it is great that she can be so reassuring! She said well maybe he is just casing the place! Perhaps you should tell management!! I was like well thank you for that really reassuring me.
One more day off and then back to work! Hope everyone is doing well

MTV cribs
Well practice the last two days has been hard but I like that, I really feel better when we practice harder. I have been getting in some good extra workouts in the pool and lifting. Today after practice we had our team picture and poster. The picture is for the Wheaties box if we win the championship! The other was for our team poster, the setting was a bbq at the Maloofs house. THey have an incredible house... we toured it, they were not there I don't know how much they live in Sac. Anways I was in heaven I wanted to live there, they had an amazing kitchen and all sorts of tricked out gadgets to open and close blinds, speaker systems amazing. Infininty pool in the backyard overlooking a man made lake. A total of 29 flat screen tvs, the telelvisions alone are worth more than I will make all year it seems like.
Back to the picture really cheesy everyone was posed in a certain way, some dancing, some on floats in the pool, bbqing, dj's. All in our uniforms mind you. I was sitting down with a nasty Carls Jr hamburger and smiling at the camera. I really can't wait to see how cheesy we look when it is all printed up. The only good thing was that it was not too hot today so I only got midly burnt being outside for the photo shoot.
One more game tomorrow and we are free for 3 days!!

One more game till the all star break!! Well we just got back from another lengthy road trip back East. We played Minnesota first and we won but did not play so well. We played the game at teh University of Minnesota instead because of a Prince concert at Target arena. The University did not have any air conditioning and in the heat of the summer it was a mess. The court there is crazy you sit below it and have to jump up to get on the court kind of like a dug out so I just stayed below because that was too much work and jumping in my 1/2 inch heels wasn't going to happen. It was fun to play in a college venue again the crowd just seemed better because it was a smaller arena and the place had a lot more character.
New York was next sadly there wasn't much time that we were able to spend there we had an afternoon game which Ben, his sister, parents and grandparents all came to! It was good to see them again and they took me out to dinner which is always great. Ben and I walked around a little went to the ESPN zone for some games and then had to say goodbye to him again. I am getting sick of saying goodbye to him it sucks.
We stay at really nice hotels which is great except that we have to have a roomate which is pretty ridiclious but that's not what this story is going to about... the night before the game this beeping starts going off so I am sitting by the alarm and I keep hitting it the time is 2am, I hit and hit and I am telling my roomate Scho I can't turn it off. Then this voice comes over the PA system "this is the hotel life safety team, we don't know what is causing the alarm go back ot what you are doing and we will get back to you." Okay my first thought what is hotel life safety team? Then it was like I am supposed to go back to bed when there could be a fire or terrorist attack I mean we are in Times square are you serious? I am making a mental checklist of what I will grab and where my clothes are when the beeping comes back. This shocks me right into action (those who have seen scary movies or haunted houses with me know how great my reaction is) I scream and I am already halfway off the bed ready to run. My roomate is laughing at me and the voice comes back and says "Don't worry about the alarm everythnig is okay this was your life safety team" ahh so it then we hear all the sirens and it took me a good little while to settle down and go back to sleep. The next morning talking about with other teamates they all had the same instincts, some were halfway out the door getting ready to RUN down 30 flights of stairs. We made it to the morning where my roomate and I ordered breakfast room service for 62$... Just happy to be alive, no I am kidding we had an early game so in order to get more sleep we had to do room service.

Been a while
I guess it has been a couple of days since my last post, no excusues I have just been lazy I guess. We had the last two days off which would have been fantastic except that everyone left so I had no visitors to play with me all day. Ben left with his parents in the middle of the day so we started the morning off with a little IHOP and I dropped him off at the airport and was back at my apartement for a nap. I had trouble falling asleep so I headed out to the pool I was wearing sunscreen of course but after about 40 minutes I saw an infestation of freckles on my arms and decided the sun wasn't good for me so I headed back inside. You need to understand the temperature here is over 100 and the heat is becoming unbearable. I decided to spend the rest of the day cruising hte mini malls in Natomas. I spent a good hour or two in Borders looking up books and checking out Belgium and Chile. I was just trying to find some things to pass the time. Apparently Belgium is known for its beer and chocolate! I rented some movies and called it a night. The next day I had a incredible pool workout with our strength coach. We have this small pool at the practice facility it is in the back with the cold tub and hot tub and sauna room. My trainer is only in his 2nd year with the team so he had never used it before and was just making stuff up as he went along. I did all the water jogging but then he found some powerful jets. He turned those things on and I honestly felt like I was being thrown against the oppposite wall so I had to swim against this current for 2 minutes. I had to keep my jogging belt on so I didn't drown.
Today was the first practice day and it was pretty light not too much to report.
The big exciting news of the day for me was that I figured out that my car does have windshield wiping fluid. I was washing the windows while getting gas but the water kept drying right after I put it on and so it was still all muddy (my car is filthy with all the construction) so I said forget and got back in the car. Then I was playing around with teh buttons and found out how it works and there is water!
I am off to pack for the road trip heading to Minnesota and New York.
